Ana Mihajlović
Associate Counsel
Ana has practiced family law exclusively since she was called to the bar in 2018. She now runs a settlement based and Collaborative family practice where she focuses on helping separating families reach mutually agreeable solutions in a dignified and respectful way.
Ana advises on all family law issues including prospective and retroactive child and spousal support, property and debt division, parenting, cohabitation, marriage, and separation. She frequently negotiates, drafts, and advises on all types of family law agreements including cohabitation and common law agreements, marriage and separation agreements, and agreements involving property division, asset protection, parenting, and trusts.
She is well-versed in family violence and attachment theory and brings empathy and guidance to difficult family and co-parenting dynamics. She is also regularly involved in family law matters involving complex financial structures including family enterprises. Ana has appeared at all levels of court in British Columbia and provides unbundled legal services, limited retainers, and legal coaching for litigation matters.
Ana holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (With Distinction) from Simon Fraser University, a Juris Doctor from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia, and is a certified Collaborative Law practitioner. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, Collaborative Divorce Vancouver, and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. She was previously on the executive committee of the Canadian Bar Association's Unbundled Legal Services. She continues to work with Rise Women's Legal Centre as a presenter and mentor, and she is an active alumna of the Women's Caucus at the Peter A. Allard School of Law at UBC. In addition to English, Ana is fluent in Serbian, Croatian, and Bosnian.
