I'm Recently Separated

Separation is a hard time for anyone.  It can often be appealing to try to avoid the situation rather than engaging in a legal process.  Unfortunately, there are also important time limits that you need to know about.  If you take too long to consult with a lawyer, you could end up losing your claim entirely.  On the other hand, you might think you have an agreement with your spouse only to find out sometime down the road, maybe even years later, that your spouse is now coming after you for something.

We offer a host of process options to help you sort through the implications of your separation or divorce.  We can assist with friendly and cooperative options such as the collaborative process or mediation.  If you have been dealing with your spouse amicably, going to a lawyer does not mean you stop being amicable.  Often, going to lawyer will help push the resolution forward as both parties having good legal advice will often help narrow issues and get past what appear to be impasses.

Having a lawyer in your corner will also help you know if your spouse is trying to mislead you or take advantage of you.  Sometimes litigation is necessary, and sometimes starting litigation can be the springboard to better negotiated settlements.  In any case, speak to us about the right approach for your unique situation.  The sooner you do, the sooner you can have the peace of mind of knowing that there isn't something important that you are overlooking.
